General Information for Patients regarding Fees

Your consultation with Dr Brian Meade will incur a fee, to which you will  be entitled to a Medicare rebate. 

Surgery and minor procedures with Dr Meade will often incur a gap fee (Known Gap) and/or out of pocket costs. We will provide information on the Medicare item numbers associated with your procedure and the breakdown of fees and rebates.

If you have sufficient coverage with your private health fund, you will be entitled to a rebate from both Medicare and your health fund. What is not covered by the health fund and Medicare is your out of pocket cost.

Our office will supply you with an Informed Financial Consent for all pre-booked colonoscopy procedures and surgery. 

The Informed Financial Consent will cover fees for Dr Meade and the surgical assistant (where applicable).  Services provided by associates such as anaesthetists, other surgeons, radiologists, nuclear physicians, or pathologists, or other costs associated with your stay in the hospital or day surgery unit, such as accommodation, pharmacy, or physiotherapy, will be separate costs.
